Introducing Beam 2 beam flooring system (BBF)
INTRODUCTION
The Beam 2 Beam flooring system is the most economical system for the construction of slabs . Offering the high strength of Pre-Stressed concrete combined with the cost effect process of block work. The Tee-Beam joist system eliminates traditional and time consuming processes such as propping shuttering with timber form work and concrete pouring.
Our T-beam joist is 150mm height by 100m base width we manufacture up to 6 meters in Length .
PRODUCTION OF TEE-BEAMS
During the casting of Tee-Beams Stop Ends are placed at designated sections according to length requirements. Creating this division during casting stage means beams no longer have to be cut to size before emptying a bed. Hence removing the need for expensive concrete cutting equipment and cutting production time and labour.
Prestressed concrete is a structural material that allows for predetermined engineering stresses to be placed in members to counteract the stresses that occur when they are subject to loading.
It combines the high strength compressive properties of concrete with the high tensile strength of steel .
In ordinary reinforced concrete , stresses are carried by the steel reinforcement, whereas prestressed concrete supports the load by induced stresses throughout the entire structural element. This makes it more resistant to shock and vibration than ordinary concrete, and able to form long, thin structures with much smaller sectional areas to support equivalent loads.
Prestressed concrete was patented by San Franciscan engineer P.H Jackson in 1886, although it did not emerge as an accepted building material until 50 years later when a shortage of steel, coupled with technological advancements, made prestressed concrete the building material of choice during European post-war reconstruction.
It is now commonly used for floor beams, piles and railways sleepers, as well as structures such as bridges, water tanks, roofs and runways. Generally, prestressed concrete is not necessary for columns and walls, however, it can be used economically for tall columns and high retaining walls with high bending stresses.
As a general rule, traditional reinforced concrete is the most economic method for a span of up to 6 m.
DESIGNED TO BE BETTER
Simplicity of design means quick and easy on site assembly of Tee- Beams. Once erected this floor provides a safe working platform for site operatives the space between joist to joist is filled with Hollow blocks. Service pipes, electrical wiring etc can all be easily incorporated into the build. Tee- Beams offer longer spans than timber floor construction; this is beneficial when building larger rooms.
EFFICIENT AND SAFE
A superior alternative to traditional timber floor construction Tee-Beams and block filling not only offer warm energy efficient buildings but also quieter ones.
The mass of prestressed concrete floors provides an effective sound barrier, offering future inhabitants a more appealing habitat. Due to the fire resistant nature of pre-stressed concrete structures are also safer. These inherent qualities make concrete homes better homes.
ADVANTAGES
BBF flooring eliminates
☀️The use of Timber to build form work
🌟No Rebar no BRC or concrete works (Koroga) only 50MM concrete topping is used to cover the new subfloor .
🌟No 21 days curing ( BBF flooring system can be assembled and installed within hrs or a day, the ground floor is ready for for plastering works while brick walling starts at the upper floor .
🌟Saves water .
Savings up to 50%
BBF Flooring cost Sh 3200 Per sq meter including the hollow blocks
